Long Queues Formed at Commercial Banks for Commemorative Banknotes

A number of people have been waiting in lines in front of commercial banks on Wednesday’s morning to buy the 60-Baht commemorative banknotes on the auspicious occasion of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 60th Birth Anniversary (1987) and the 100-Baht commemorative banknotes on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Thai Banknotes (2002).

The two commemorative banknotes are available at major commercial banks today. Each person is alowed to buy only one item.

It was reported that first person to form the queue arrived at the Bangkok Bank Head Office in Silom since 4am. At the Kasikornbank on Pahonyothin Road, purchasers started forming the queue at 6am.
