“The changing technology in today’s production has directly affected on Thai industrial sector. Many organisations, thus, have focused more on technology development and innovation in order to ensure that they will survive and enjoy future growth,” said Sanchai Noombunnam, deputy managing director events UBM Asia (Thailand).
Sanchai said SMEs were the focus as they accounted for 95 per cent of all Thai firms and generated 65 per cent of the country’s income.
UBM Asia (Thailand) is a partner with the Board of Investment (BOI) in organising “INTERMACH 2017”, the region’s biggest showcase of industrial machinery and subcontracting.
Sanchai said that as Thailand had been accepted in the world market as one of the targeted investment destinations for leading companies, the country had been eyed as centre for innovation and intelligence technology.
INTERMACH aims to support SMEs so they boost business through technology and innovation learning.
Sanchai said the event would be the biggest showcase of highly sophisticated machinery and modern parts manufacturing in line with Thailand’s Industry 4.0 Model and industries development under the concept of “Advanced Technology the Smart Way to Success”.
The targeted visitors will be various.
Sanchai said SMEs would be well supported in various dimensions, including learning about Industrial 4.0 in terms of big data or bulk information for business analysis, using automatic machinery as part of production, as well as meeting quality parts manufacturers through business matching. The event will help increase opportunities for SMEs and create a good future for Thai industries.
This year’s event will be more significant as the exhibition area will increase 25 per cent. More than 1,300 brands from 45 countries will showcase the latest machinery, technology and equipment, with more than 150 items to be launched in Asean.
The event will create knowledge base for SMEs through a seminar on Industry 4.0. The seminar will be co-hosted by the Industrial Promotion Department.
Seminars will cover issues relating to robotics and applications, machinery technology or 3D printing, sheet metal technology, and measurement equipment. Those technologies will be major supportive tools for the industrial sector to propel future “smart” factories.
Seminars will not only educate but it is also designed to motivate and open up opportunities for SMEs to adopt ideas and new technology.
Additionally, SMEs representatives will transfer their experience at the seminars in various issues such as on industrial parts of medical devices, aerospace and aviation.
Other highlights will include a workshop for SMEs to learn new technologies like machinery parts and measurement equipment as well as a welding competition.
INTERMACH 2017 will be held from May 17-20.
