The top five business sectors for new registrations during June were construction, real estate, jewellery retailing, restaurants and logistics, Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said.
Meanwhile, 1,548 companies ceased operations last month, 44 per cent higher than the May level and 11 per cent more than in the same period last year, she added.
Some 35,942 companies were registered in the first six months, up 11 per cent from the corresponding period in 2016 and with a combined registered capital of Bt164.28 billion.
“The rise in the number of newly registered firms reflects the recovery in the country’s economy, with most of the new firms investing to serve demand growth,” the minister explained.
