
The CTS Group, with Japan-based KeePer, is expanding its glass-coating business through dealers at all provinces starting with 20 cities. Targeting investment from entrepreneurs and startups, they promise a contract that requires initial investment of only Bt1 million in return for standardised equipment and training.
The dealership system is expected to draw investment worth over Bt3 billion, supported by high-growth performance of the first shop in Bangkok that has serviced over 300 vehicles per month in the past two years. Thanks to the growth trend, Isuzu Hat Group, an Isuzu distributor in the North, became the first to open KeePer ProShop in Phitsanulok with a plan to open more across the Northern region.
11street backs lunch promotion at Emporium, EmQuartier
South Korean e-commerce platform 11street has joined with The Emporium and The EmQuartier shopping centres to launch a promotion called Everyday @ EM Dining.
This allows foodies to eat at The Emporium and The EmQuartier at reduced prices. Until July 31, food lovers can buy a Bt500 cash dining voucher for Bt350. The dining vouchers can be used at more than 40 restaurants at The Emporium and The EmQuartier.
Cambodian senators tour CPF processing plant
A delegation of Cambodian senators praised Charoen Pokphand Foods’ (CPF) labour practices, vowing to apply the practices in elevating human rights standards, labour skills and the development of safe food production to support Cambodia's economic expansion.
Leading the delegation to CPF's pork processing plant, Mann Choeurn, a member of parliament and chairman of the bilateral Friendship Group between Cambodia’s Senate and the National legislative Assembly in Thailand, said that the visit was aimed at studying good labour practices and applying the model in tracing legal recruitments and meeting international human rights standards. The delegation learnt about Cambodian workers' work and living conditions. It also observed CPF's processing system that conforms to international food safety standards, aiming to use the knowledge in lifting Cambodia's agriculture and food processing industry as a way to ensure Cambodians' access to safer and higher-quality food.
Startups gain advice from Bangkok Bank, Nest
Bangkok Bank president Chartsiri Sophonpanich, director Charamporn Jotikastiraand and executive vice president Narin Opamuratawongse led a group of the bank’s executives at a lunch with John Crane, Nest’s managing partner for Thailand, and bluefin startups in the Bangkok Bank Innovation Hub programme.
Chartsiri gave a speech to inspire the startups operators to create work that can help to drive Thailand’s economy and financial business and to build their potential for regional and international expansion. An event called The Demo Day, to be held in September 2017, “will be an important opportunity for the startups to present their business plans to Thai and international investors and attract fund-raising or potential partnerships”, Chartsiri said.
dtac accelerate secures Bt350 million for startups
dtac accelerate has celebrated its success in securing follow-on funding, after obtaining Bt350 million for 34 startups in the programme over the past five years.
dtac accelerate is a startup accelerator programme that has received the most funding from venture capitalists in Thailand, with 70 per cent of its startups receiving funding.
Most recently, Health at Home secured follow-on funding from Muang Thai Life Assurance and 500 TukTuks.
The total value of the 34 startups has reached Bt3 billion, a 200 per cent increase from last year.
Health at Home, founded by a team of doctors, offers health care services for home-based patients with chronic illness and for the elderly by connecting the family with the right health care professionals.
Health at Home aims to improve the quality of home care by providing certified professionals with personal records, creating an online matching platform and facilitating health insurance coverage for home-care services.
Health at Home has a mobile application that collects and tracks patient medical records, which enables doctors and nurses to provide remote care and allows families to remotely monitor patients’ health.
Health at Home has more than 300 caregivers in Bangkok and its vicinity.
