Bad loans tipped to reach 3% in third quarter

TMB Analytics forecasts that non-performing loans (NPLs) in the third quarter of this year will reach a high of 3 per cent, or about Bt430 billion, after small and medium-sized enterprises report a decline in sales for the first nine months of this year.
However, TMB Analytics has confidence that commercial banks will manage their NPLs and that these will be reduced to be 2.83 per cent in the fourth quarter, when they revise their debt and increase approvals for new loans.
