
The 59th edition saw an 18.8 per cent rise in visitor numbers over the five days from the previous year.
The event was held from February 22-26 at the Impact complex in Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok.
It was organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Ministry of Commerce, attracting buyers and traders from around the world to source innovations and the finest gems and jewellery.
Some 730 enterprises presented at 2,011 booths, with 17,000 buyers and visitors visiting the fair.
Malee Choklumlerd, the DITP’s director general, said that the fair was “a truly beneficial event” for importers and traders from every corner of the globe.
Among the exhibitors were those from Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, Poland, Japan, as well as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. The top five sources of visitors were India, China, Myanmar, Vietnam and the United States.
The 60th Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair will take place from September 6-10 at the Impact complex.
