Divine sign inspires worshippers

A mysterious bright light appeared over Ayutthaya’s sky yesterday afternoon during a ritual to worship Indra Naga Raja.
A hermit, Preechai Jitborisuth, had been presiding over the ritual at his home in Ayutthaya’s Bang Sai district with the help of monks from two temples.
It is widely believed in Buddhism that Indra Naga Raja is one of the nine greatest nagas and is a reincarnation of Indra, who rules over heaven.
A number of believers attended yesterday’s ritual and their faith reportedly grew after seeing the corona during the ritual.
