
Local residents also queued to get the vaccine from the private hospital located in the Northern province bordering Myanmar. There were hundreds of people in the queue on Saturday.
The rush followed a report that 26 people had died in Myanmar after contracting the deadly flu strain. About 400 people in Myanmar are believed to have been infected with H1N1. There was also a report that a Thai man in Tak had died from the flu.
Hospital staff said demand for the vaccine was so high that they had begun to run out of stock,
