Boy drowns in Angthong river

A 12-year-old boy drowned in an Angthong river on Monday, police said.
Scuba divers of a local rescue foundation found Satawat Samlee-on’s body at the bottom of the Noi River in Moo 1 village in tambon Angkaew, Phothong distirct, about three hours after his friend sought help at about 6pm.
The friend said Satawat swam to the other side of the river and he went home to change clothes.
He said when he returned to the river he could not find Satawat.
