Mild earthquake hits Kanchanaburi

A 2.4-magnitude earthquake hit Kanchanaburi’s Muang district on Monday morning, the Seismological Bureau of the Meteorological Department reported.
The bureau said the quake happened at 7.29am at the latitude 14.05 and a longitude 99.41. Its epicentre was at the depth of one kilometre.
Kanchanaburi deputy governor Ronachai Jitwiset said the epicentre was at Wat Tham Buddhavas in tambon Nong Bua.
He said the quake lasted about three seconds and did not cause any damage.
Ronachai said residents of tambon Nong Bua and tambon Lardya felt the tremor.
