Workers, volunteers rush to fix flood embankment in Angthong

Rising water on the bloated Chao Phraya River led to the rupturing of flood embankments in the business area of Angthong province’s Muang district.
The waters breached the embankments on Friday night, causing some flooding in the downtown area, said Orawan Suwaphan, deputy mayor of Muang Angthong Municipality.
Orawan said some 300 volunteers and workers of the municipality joined hands to fix the embankments on Saturday morning.
