Phuket airport housekeeper returns Bt500,000 to passenger
Phuket International Airport director Petch Chancharoen on Friday presented an award to Duangtawan Chuayseng, a housekeeping outsource staffer from the Phuket Inter Chemical Company for returning Bt500,000 in cash to Chinese passenger Li Xiaofei.
Duangtawan was working at the men’s toilet on the third floor of the international terminal when she found a wallet with a large number of bank notes, both Thai baht and Chinese yuan, with a combined value of Bt500,000.
She reported it to the security officer to make an announcement and find the wallet’s owner.
Li Xiaofei showed up with his passport, which matched his wallet ID card, and correctly specified details about the missing items.
After a week of bad news coming out of the Phuket International Airport, the airport administration was eager to share a big thanks and wais to Duangtawan Chuayseng for her honesty and good citizenship.
