Srinagarind Dam ups release rate at 89 per cent capacity

The water level of the Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi has reached over 89 per cent of its capacity and the dam is releasing water at the speed of 22 million cubic metres per day, its director said on Saturday morning.
Prasert Inthap said that as of 8am, the dam held 15,876 million cubic metres of water or about 89.47 per cent of its capacity.
He said 53.09 million cubic metres had entered the reservoir on Friday while the dam released 20.88 million cubic metres of water.
Operators will increase the water release to 22 million cubic metres on Saturday, he said.
The dam is able to hold a lot more water without structural safety being affected, he said.
