Peacock dies in forest fire

A peacock and its eggs were among the wildlife fatalities in a recent forest fire in Phayao's Dok Kham Tai district on Wednesday.
The burnt peacock and damaged eggs in the nest were recovered as 100 fire-battling officials inspected the Jamkai-Ban Tham forest in Tambon Ban Tham and Tambon San Khong.
District chief Thewa Panyaboon urged people not to light fires in forests as they could spread, killing wildlife animals and increasing pollution.
