Disabled elderly man found dead in canal in Chai Nat

A disabled elderly man was found dead in an irrigation canal beside a road in Chai Nat’s Nong Ma Mong disrict on Thursday, four days after he left home on his hand-pedal tricycle, police said.
Nong Ma Mong police were alerted on Thursday morning that the body of Samarn Nuchsoom, 70, was found beside his hand-pedal tricycle in the canal that is about 3-metres below the road, not far from his house in Moo 12 village in Tambon Nong Ma Mong.
Neighbours saw Samarn hand-pedalling his tricycle out of his home on Sunday. His relatives have been looking for him since he did not return home in the evening.
A local villager herding cows found the body.
