Re: “Military to decide on red bowls case”, Politics, April 3.
I note from your article that a woman in Chiang Mai was arrested last week for having her photo taken with a water bowl, and that the military and police have conducted mass seizures of such bowls in Chiang Mai and Bangkok.
This water-bowl crackdown makes me rather nervous. Outside my back door is a water bowl emblazoned with the slogan “DOG”.
In these prickly days of government paranoia and Section 44 orders, not to mention widespread global offence at many things written or spoken, I wish to state publicly that the above slogan is not political. Nor is it hate-speech directed against the fair sex, nor an exhortation to engage in bizarre sexual practices.
