ANUSORN Sanaphanthu, who penned the pocketbook “Laos Lae Nai” (“Long Way Laos”) after riding a motorbike through the landlocked country for 14 days, was recently announced the winning rider of “Wrangler True Wanderer Season II” by Central Marketing Group.
Anusorn, one of the 10 finalists selected from 2,445 registered riders, rode away on the grand prize, a Triumph Street Twin motorcycle that boasts a trustworthy security system and a classy design and is an ideal ride for any biker seeking adventure.
“Wrangler is known for its true spirit of adventure on the open road in celebration of the journey to freedom. A favourite brand with denim lovers, Wrangler Thailand is celebrating its success with the second season of the Wrangler True Wanderer campaign. This year, we searched for riders who are fuelled by one of the five passions. The first is an artist looking for creative inspirations. The second is an explorer eager to discover new places. The third is a foodie who lives for great culinary experiences. The fourth is a humanitarian seeking to help others and the last is a musician who enjoys entertaining friends. Candidates were asked to share the passion that brought them to the open road along with photos from their trips,” Varavut Matanapojanard, senior vice president of Wrangler, explained.
Anusorn had no trouble fulfilling both the first and second of these categories and was happy to share his picturesque and heart-touching travel memoir entitled “Voyaging the World, Seeking Countless Miracles”. This unique travelogue depicts moments witnessed on the road as he travelled through Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi and Kanchanaburi, keeping his mission alive with photos of magnificent scenery and the daily routines of local residents. His pictures and travel journal entries also offered thoughts on the relationship between man and nature and underlined local wisdom.
The photos captured the hearts and minds of the judging panel, which was made up of Nikkasit Wongsawas, the winner of True Wanderer Thailand Season 1, Jakkrapong Santirat, general manager of Triumph Motorcycles (Thailand); Dom Hetrakul, managing director of Britbike; and Duangrit Bunnag, a renowned Thai architect and designer. Their evaluation was based on four criteria: 20 points for the entry’s agreement with its chosen passion for adventure, 20 points for interesting style of storytelling, 20 points for creativity of the contents, and 10 points for image quality.
The announcement ceremony was held at the square in front of CentralWorld Department Store and attended by Wrangler brand ambassador Sukollawat “Weir” Kanarot, Nutthawat “Chane” Plengsiriwat, Danai “Kik” Jarujinda, Natthaweeranuch “VJ Ja” Thongmee, Nattaboon “Ple” Trinathy and Worawit “Mooyong” Ruengjantaranukul. Hundreds of bikers parked up for the event giving the ceremony the air of a bike festival.
The event also saw Wrangler introducing “Denim Performance”, a new jeans collection that marries fashion with functionality by incorporating three cutting-edge garment innovations. These are Stay Dry, an advanced water-repellent technology, Tough Gear fabric, and Cool Vantage technology that wicks away moisture.
