Forth Smart says it respects FAT decision to revoke rights

Forth Smart Service Public Company said it respected the Football Association of Thailand’s (FAT) decision to rescind its ticket-selling rights for Thailand’s home fixtures in the final World Cup qualifying round following huge public outcry over its web

On Monday, fans tried to book tickets that were sold as a package on www.houseofticket.com. for Thailand’s five home matches in the last-12 round of Asian qualifying due to kick off next month. Inexplicably, the website failed to take the huge traffic and crashed.
Fans grew restive when some of those tickets soon appeared on the resale websites at a price far higher than its original value. The FAT then acted swiftly and decisively to revoke the company’s rights later in the day. In fact, Forth Smart Service got the rights to sell the tickets only a few months ago.
“We respected the decision by the association. We’re thankful to them for giving us an opportunity to be part of Thai football by selling tickets.
“We would like to apologise to every fan for the disappointment we have caused. We’re well aware of the expectations of the fans as they wanted to watch quality international matches. We’re also grateful for the feedback and we will try to use them to improve our network.
“We decided to come into the picture because we wanted to develop Thai football and address the problems concerning selling of tickets.
“The setback will motivate us to work hard. We’ll keep developing our House of Ticket website and make it as a channel to sell tickets for other events or major football tournaments in future should we get another chance,” said Somchai Sungsawang, the company’s managing director.
FAT secretary general Pisan Jundilok said the association will discuss the issue when president Somyot Poompanmuang returns from ASEAN Football Federation’s board meeting in Myanmar.
