Many letters we read in this newspaper are written by Thai elitists who are cut off from the masses. Or we read letters from expatriates from countries where they enjoy the freedom and democracy they would deny Thais. These expats look down on Thais as childlike individuals, happy as long as they can play with their phones and caring little about anything else in life.
Unfortunately the real poor people of Thailand are so busy working two jobs to make ends meet that they don’t have time to write letters to newspapers to inform us of what is really going on in this country.
