Pruchya Wins Two Matches in Same Day to Claim 4th ATT Title.

Pruchya Isarow proved invincible in all his Asian Tennis Tour appearances after he beat Phassawit Burapharitta 6-4 6-2 to claim his fourth ATT title in the Park 24 ATT Thailand M4 at True Arena Hua Hin on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from Hat Yai, winner of all three previous ATT series in Thailand, showed no sign of exhaustion to dictate the final match, just three hours after his semi-final win over Congsup Congcar 6-3 7-6 (7-3) which was postponed from Tuesday because of rain.

“I had to play two matches today and my body feels a bit tired now. However winning for the fourth time in a row really helps in terms of psychological aspect as this victory is beyond expectation,” said Pruchya who entered this event to test his knees.

Knee problems forced the former Thai No 1 to retire from two rubbers in the Davis Cup tie between Thailand and Taiwan last month.

“I didn’t know what to expect coming into the tournament as I hadn’t competed for a few weeks. But my knees are getting better and better,” added the Chulalongkorn University student.

“In the match against Phassawit, I had to be really patient. I had to kept hitting the ball and waited for opportunities to finish points. I couldn’t rush my game as he is a solid baseline player,” added Pruchya.

As the fifth ATT circuit begins on Friday with the sixth starting next week, Pruchya was not certain if he would be ready to go for the fifth victory here at the resort town.

“I hope to continue playing at this level but I feel as if I may have a fever. I will rest one day and decide if I should enter the next circuit.”
