
Facing tough challenges from the USA and Kuwait, the Thai jetski riders performed brilliantly to make a one-two-three finish in the Sport Spec Slalom class on Sunday. Thipmongkol from Singha PTT Team, who has already took the Amateur Runabout 800 Limited class, crossed the finish line first in 33.79 seconds. Team-mates Thapatrawat Josannuson from Ratchaburi Team and Ekkachon Kingchansil came in second and third places in 33.93s and 37.75s respectively.
Earlier on Sunday (Saturday local time), Noppadol Submeunsean overcame his fever to successfully retain his Pro Am Runabout 1000 SS title at the IJSBA World Finals at Lave Havasu in Arizona, USA, handing the Thai jetski riders the fifth gold in in their medals haul at the top-notch competition.
Failing to make their mark in the last two days to win no gold medal, the Thai jetski riders have already made a successful comeback on Saturday. Defending Pro Am Runabout 1000 SS champion Noppadol, who had a fever one day ahead of his competition due to an unreliable weather condition at Lake Havasu City, remained in top form to cross the finish line first in the first moto.
In the second moto, Noppadol from Freedom Racing Team continued his remarkable run to storm home first in victorious style for a back-to-back title. Team-mate Teerapong Khunjeng from Singha PTT Team, whio came in second place in the first moto and third in the second moto, finished second overall.
The IJSBA World Finals concluded on Sunday local time which saw the Thai jetski riders return with six gold medals. They comprised Kasidit Teeraprateep in the Novice Ski Stock class, Thidapach Srivaurai in the Novice Women Ski Limited, Thipmongkol Khemsri in the Amateur Runabout 800 Limited and the Sport Spec Slalom event, Attapon Kunsa in the Amateur Runabout 1000 Superstock class and Noppadol Submeunsean in the Pro Am Runabout 1000 SS event.
