
The Chonburi based who won two titles this year, one on the ADT Tour and one on the All Thailand Tour in Rayong, sparkled his round with eagles on the third and seventh holes plus three birdies against a lone bogey on the 11th hole for a total 16 under-par 200.
“I putted very well today while my iron game was quite OK. I was just lucky to make two eagle putts which put me in a good momentum,” said Namchok determined to win the season ending event of the Thai PGA.
“I’m quite confident with my game now. It all depends on whether or not I can keep up with the level I’m playing. It’s been a long time since I’m in the same squad with Thanyakorn. He has sharp putts. We will have a great time out there tomorrow,” added Namchok.
Midway leader Thanyakorn who was trying to make a comeback after being on the sidelines for four weeks with back injury sank four birdies against two bogeys for a 70 and a total 14 under-par 202. He was looking for his second victory following win at the Laem Chabang International Golf Club in September.
