In stark contrast is Mr Wilcox’s latest offering (“Redressing the legacy of Obama is a huge task”, Letters, yesterday).
I really don’t care whether Barack Obama doubled the US debt during his presidency, as Mr Wilcox writes – neglecting to offer any evidence to back up his claim as usual. But I think Mr Wilcox is still wearing blinkers when it comes to Obama.
What I find particularly offensive are the following points:
He says, “When speaking of Muslims, it must not be overlooked that they stand for the totalitarian political ideology of Islam.” I assume he means that all Muslims support totalitarianism.
He also deliberately mixes the words “total” and “totalitarianism” in order to cement what appears to be a biased view that all Muslims are extremists. This, again, seems to be blatant Islamophobia, and is to be condemned out of hand.
He also believes that Trump’s words on Nato were misinterpreted – that he called for its reform, not its demolition. So that’s not quite the same as calling Nato obsolete, eh?
Mr Wilcox continues to write misleading nonsense to spread his outlandish and intolerable views, which closely resemble Trump’s own.
