Thai trio move on in Basel

Sapsiree Taerattanachai, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Puttita Supajirakul stormed into the quarter-finals of both the mixed doubles and women’s doubles of the US$120,000 Swiss Open in Basel on Thursday.
Dechapol and Sapsiree needed just 35 minutes to beat Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith of England 21-12 21-16 in the mixed doubles for a place in the final eights.
Sapsiree went back on court later to pair up with Puttita in the women’s doubles before winning her second match of the day following a 21-17 21-10 win over Anggia Shitta Awanda and Apriani Rahayu of Indonesia.
Sapsiree and Dechapol will next face Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich of Germany while in the women’s doubles, Sapsiree and Puttita will play Chinese Bao Yixin and Yu Xiaohan.
