Guys look sharp in latest Bottega Veneta
The spring-summer men’s line from Bottega Veneta has all the volume of classic 1940s clothing in saturated shades of green, grey, brown, burgundy and purple set against stone and plaster neutrals.
Leathers in matte or shiny, sturdy linen, blends of cotton with metal and suede meet fluid materials like silk, gabardine and printed viscose.
Full trousers are treated in a diversely sophisticated way, defining the silhouette of the season. Jackets and coats are soft-tailored, while the sportswear takes its inspiration from work uniforms.
There are geometric patterns of various sizes and techniques, such as print, jacquard or intarsia.
“This collection is a logical evolution of last season’s elongated silhouette,” says creative director Tomas Maier. “Roomy pants paired with soft-tailored jackets, short blousons or shirts make up for a fresh allure.”
Bags are triple- or double-flapped and mix crocodile, ostrich, deerskin, double suede and calf leather. Optical-illusion elements accent the shape. The collection also includes saddle shoes in suede and crocodile and lace-ups in washed calf leather.
