From noodles to music

Arnon Inthisan, a kitchen hand responsible for making “khanom jeen” (Thai noodles) at a restaurant in Ubon Ratchathani, has finally achieved his musical dreams, becoming the first artist with the Xer Loud Project and releasing the song “Ta Kee” on the Mader music label. It’s a catchy little ditty blending folk and rock in true Isaan style.

“I’m so excited that today my dream has comes true,” says Non Xer Loud, as he will henceforth be known. “I’ve always wanted to be an artist and record my own song since my child days. I used to play at a pub at night after making noodles all day.

“Fortunately, I met Phi Jew [Jakrit Chanprayoon], and he helped me a lot in working on the song. I realise now that I would never have made it without effort and tolerance.

“The hardest part was infusing my vocals with emotion so as to get the lyrics across. I finally managed it though.”

The Xer Loud Project was set up to help talented individuals find their way by the Xer band, featuring Jew on vocals and guitar, Kitti “Jo” Songpisai on drums and Wuthipat “George” Tosakun on bass.
