Nigel Pike in his letter on Saturday gives some “alternative news” websites that in fact are very good examples of the fallacy of defective induction.
Indeed, he goes on to quote a magazine implying that a majority support Daesh in the Middle East. Of course Western intervention did boost the numbers supporting Daesh.
Any perceptive observer of the Middle East knows the majority of Muslims there are conservatives in matters of faith, not extremists. The world of Islam even has its liberals.
