A great monarch leaves his people a great legacy
Yesterday, October 26, 2017, we said a formal goodbye to one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century.
Our late head of state, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, was finally laid to rest. But His Majesty’s supreme legacy will live on.
His spirit is alive in the minds of the people he cherished for 70 years. He devoted his life with total selflessness to the nation he so enriched with his wisdom and guidance. His courage in the face of adversity was exemplary as he stood by sound principles for the betterment of the people he so loved.
During the last 12 months, the country has grieved His Majesty’s passing, expressing a deep love for the leader they called Father.
His Majesty was and will remain the Father of the nation for which he worked so tirelessly.
During his long reign, King Bhumibol was acknowledged with deep respect across the globe as a leader of people. His Majesty was renowned for his a hands-on approach to the problems his people encountered. He did far more than simply pass on his wisdom and advice, he became involved. All who approached him received personal consideration, be they farmer or official.
Thailand has lost a King but is endowed with his legacy that will continue to enrich its future.
It is with great pride that we can say we lived during the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and we can enjoy the rich future he bequeathed us. Thank you, Your Majesty.
