Where were these very same finger-pointers when innocent people were being killed in Bangkok by war weapons? Finger-pointing seems to be used mainly as a political tool, and not something you do every time wrongdoings occur, whoever is behind them.
Politics have become rotten the world over. The highly effective trick is to create a pretext for your action and political side – like the non-existent weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
So who has so far enjoyed the political benefit of the weapons found in the rice field and the heavy media coverage of this story? Absolutely not the military (or did their attempt at creating a pretext go wrong?) Instead, the opponents of the junta seem to have been super-smart and got what they wanted – which is the media (and perhaps the people?) on their side. Is it possible to see this story in an unbiased way?
