By demonising minorities you forfeit your own humanity
Re: “Guidelines for a more courteous Have Your Say in 2018”, December 26.
Allow me to comment in light of Mr Nigel Pike’s intemperate “it’s not perfect” fustian proposal of December 26, for a more conciliatory 2018. I would suggest that he reads and, if at all possible, manages to digest my offering of the same day.
I don’t know how many times I have to write this before it penetrates that place ostensibly used to create rational thought in his honeycombed caverns. When he vilifies and traduces those powerless minorities and “the other” he routinely targets, so shall he be similarly treated by me. If in the event he undergoes some form of miraculous Damascene conversion to basic human decency, then so too shall he be considered. It isn’t E=MC2.
As I have written in these pages before, if he or anyone else who visits here writes sensibly and with fairness to others in mind, when he accepts that we are all just people trying to get by, and is thence attacked by pre-conversion dunderheads, I will support him. Until then...
Finally, I would like to inform Mr Nigel Pike that all my generously proportioned organs of generation are functioning to their normal impressive standards, even in these boreal regions, and as such have no need of antifreeze.
