Some fictions are more harmful than others

Think of the evil Santa Clausians who put lumps of coal in kids’ stockings hung over the fireplace, the Tooth Fairians who take the baby teeth from under a child’s pillow and leave behind no money, or the Easter Bunnians who give their little believers rotten eggs. Okay, I admit, religions are by far the most harmful of the world’s fictions.
