Foreign Ministry reports no Thai casualties following Nepal floods
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry and its embassy in Kathmandu are monitoring developments, while the embassy stands ready to coordinate assistance for Thai nationals.

Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said flash floods and landslides struck areas along Nepal’s Bhote Koshi River on Wednesday (August 26, 2026), with deaths reported and more than 600 Nepalis and foreign nationals missing.
No Thai nationals have been reported injured or killed.
Jaithai Upakarnitikaset, director-general of the Department of Information and Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said the ministry had coordinated with the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu to assess the situation.
The disaster had affected areas in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan.
Areas along the Bhote Koshi River suffered extensive damage, particularly to public utilities and infrastructure, while local agencies continued efforts to locate and assist those affected.
The ministry and the embassy will continue to monitor developments, assess the impact and arrange appropriate assistance for any Thai nationals affected.
The ministry urged Thai nationals in disaster-hit areas, particularly those near river basins or in locations at risk of landslides, to monitor developments closely, follow advice from the Nepalese authorities and avoid travelling to areas declared dangerous.
