Heavy rain prompts Cell Broadcast alerts in two Trat districts
Residents in Khao Saming and Bo Rai are urged to move belongings and vehicles to higher ground as rainfall continues, raising flood and run-off risks.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) sent Cell Broadcast alerts on Friday (August 28, 2026), warning residents of Khao Saming and Bo Rai districts in Trat province about the risk of flash floods, forest run-off and rivers overflowing their banks after heavy rain.
The alert for Khao Saming, issued at 6pm, said heavy rain was continuing, with risks of flash flooding, forest run-off, waterlogging and rivers overflowing their banks.
Residents along canals and waterways, in low-lying areas and on foothill slopes were urged to remain vigilant, particularly in Sato, Pranit and Thep Nimit subdistricts and nearby areas.
A separate warning said heavy rain was also continuing in Bo Rai, with the same risks along canals and waterways, in low-lying areas and on foothill slopes.
Residents in both districts were advised to move belongings to higher ground, move vehicles, secure valuables and important documents, take precautions against electric shocks, look after vulnerable people and closely follow official updates.
The department worked with mobile network operators AIS, True and NT to send the alerts for both districts through Cell Broadcast.
