Some 3,000 soldiers from the Myanmar military army arrived in Doi Sam Muang and Japasa Camp in Kayah State opposite Mae Hong Son’s Muang district on Thursday to reinforce the army’s positions.

The Kanchanaburi Provincial Court on Wednesday handed down a jail term of three years and seven months plus a Bt2,000 fine to the 41-year-old Myanmar Kareni man identified only as Tata over his shooting of a binturong in Sai Yok National Park last October.
