The so-called Naga fireballs witnessed in Nong Khai on Sunday night were nothing but projectile bullets fired from the Lao side of the Mekong, a Chulalongkorn University academic sniffed on Monday.

A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday approved the Naga as Thailand's national mythological creature in a bid to promote the study and conservation of history and culture and drive the creative economy using the creature as a symbol of Thai culture.
