The International Water Association’s 2025 Water and Development Congress & Exhibition was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand from 8 to 12 December, bringing together water professionals and other key actors, from researchers through to government officials, to advance solutions for low- and middle-income countries.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has donated US$8 million (350 million baht) to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to set up a centre to launch sustainable sanitation systems.
