SCAVENGERS ARE the real heroes as Asia struggles to tackle intensifying urban waste problems and marine plastic pollution, the United Nations Economic and Social Committee for Asia and Pacific (Escap) has discovered.

SECURITY cameras have linked the 20-year-old Myanmar suspect in the murders of three scavengers in Pathum Thani last week to the death of a homeless woman whose mutilated body was found under a Bangkok U-turn overpass on Sunday.
