UAC Global invests in Lao power plant

Listed firm UAC Global is planning a joint venture to build a Bt1 billion plant in Laos capable of generating up to six megawatts of electricity from waste, chief executive officer Kitti Javacate said on Monday.
“We will hold a 51 per cent stake in the joint-venture firm with our local partner in Laos. The deal will be final on September this year, and it will take up to two years to build the plant,” he said. The company’s investment budget will come from its initial cash flow, he said.
UAC Global was also studying plans to expand its investment in a solar farm in Japan, Kitti said.
Kitti added that the company has continued to target total revenue of Bt1.8 billion this year following its first-half revenue of Bt780.33 million and net profit of Bt67.61 million.
