Dr Chalieo Vitoorapakorn, deputy chief executive of EPG, a manufacturer and distributor of polymer and plastic products, has disclosed the company’s operation plan for the period from April 2017 to March 2018. EPG still places emphasis on innovation and research and development to increase the efficiency of its three core businesses. They are the thermal-insulation business under the Aeroflex brand, the automotive parts and accessories business under the Aeroklas brand, and the plastic and packaging business under the EPP brand.
EPG’s thermal-insulation business still focuses on countries in Asia, especially Vietnam, Japan and China.
The company has introduced a new product, Aero-Roof, a thermal-insulation sheet installed under the roof of buildings such as factories, department stores, hospitals, warehouses, and other customers who see the importance of safety and cost efficiency.
EPG is developing a new fire-retardant insulation product for homes and factories, targeting local and international customers.
The Aeroklas brand will carry on its growth momentum with its canopy and side-step products, for which the company has gradually increased production capacity while expanding in the markets of Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe.
EPG also consults with automotive companies that wish to have Aeroklas take part in the development of premium auto parts and styling accessories. In addition to that, TJM will establish a TJM Corporate Store in Western Australia and open branches in Thailand.
EPP has recently launched new products as well. Its food liner can be placed on top of a dish or bowl prior to eating to reduce the food’s exposure to contamination. After use, the product can be disposed of right away without washing the dish or bowl. The product is designed to enhance sanitation for street-food vendors and others for whom washing dishes is inconvenient.
Moreover, EPP has expanded the market for its general plastic packaging. EPP now has production capacity of 32,000 tonnes a year of this product.
Chalieo said that in EPG’s 2016-17 fiscal year, revenue reached Bt9.28 billion, growing from Bt8.765 billion in the previous year by Bt5 million or 5.9 per cent. It was the highest revenue in the company’s history. On the other hand, the net profit of Bt1.383 billion was down by 2.2 per cent from the previous year’s Bt1.414 billion in last year.
