A riposte to pushy vegans

I am a meat-eater, but I have never found it necessary to try to convert vegans to my way of thinking.
So why do vegans think they should convert others? Every time one of them says to me, “You should try this, it tastes like chicken”, I just reply, “You should try this roast beef, it tastes nothing like beetroot.”
