Suvarnabhumi roadworks to divert terminal traffic for seven months
Suvarnabhumi Airport will introduce traffic diversions on its elevated terminal roads from August 31 to April 7 for expansion-joint repairs.

Passengers due to fly from Suvarnabhumi Airport have been advised to plan their journeys carefully, as traffic on the elevated roads serving its passenger terminal will be diverted for seven months while the roads are repaired and maintained.
The work will run from August 31, 2026, to April 7, 2027, on elevated access roads leading to and from the passenger terminal. The roads connect with Motorway No. 7, the Bangkok-Chonburi route.
The maintenance is intended to improve safety standards and keep the airport’s access-road infrastructure in sound condition, supporting efficient travel for passengers and other airport users over the long term.
During the work, three traffic lanes will be closed within the affected areas, while two lanes will remain open to traffic via diversions. Traffic may slow during busy periods.
Repairs will be carried out in phases, with work zones moved in accordance with the project schedule. Diversions will apply only to sections undergoing repairs, while traffic arrangements will be adjusted as appropriate to minimise the overall impact on journeys to and from the airport.
To reduce the risk of missing flights, Suvarnabhumi Airport has advised passengers and other users to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time to reach the terminal. Travellers may also consider using the Airport Rail Link for journeys to and from the airport.
Traffic officers will be deployed throughout the work, with warning signs installed around repair areas. Drivers are urged to take extra care, reduce their speed, avoid parking on road shoulders and follow traffic signs and instructions from officials.
