 All that jazz

For the fourth year in a row, Unesco Bangkok is partnering with Sweets Records in celebrating International Jazz Day on April 30, organising day and evening sessions at community mall The Commons on Soi Thonglor.

This year’s theme is “Jazz and People”, highlighting the music’s undeniable force in unifying people in a spirit of collaboration and artistic innovation.
The most prominent names from the local jazz scene will be gathering for the celebration, among them Nattapon Fuangaugsorn, a tenor sax player and an inspiration to many young aspiring jazz artists in Thailand at the College of Music at Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. He has played with many famous Thai acts and previously studied saxophone with Melissa Aldana.
Also playing are Pamai Chirdkiatisak, a modern jazz guitarist who’s taking part in the “Made in New York” jazz event in the Big Apple later this year and pianist Teerapat Jantob from Mahidol University.
The day session runs from noon to 6 and the evening one from 6 to 11. Find out more at Facebook.com/events/1887510351534660/.
