Chao Phraya boat service expanding to Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani

The Marine Department is conducting a study to expand the Chao Phraya River boat service from Sathorn pier northwards as far as Pathum Thani and southwards to Samut Prakan, said director-general Withaya Yamoung.
At least two companies have expressed an interest in operating public boat services on the two routes, he added.
The department is expected to call a bid to operate the routes this year.
It will also open new routes in the South including a service linking Phuket’s Ao Po with Koh Yao in Phang Nga and Tha Lane in Krabi.
